Hill-Rom Sr Engineer Manufacturing in Batesville, Indiana
Design, implement, and support Quality Assurance of Test Systems to ensure continuous production of products that are consistent with established standards in a Global Capacity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other duties may be assigned:
Design, develop, and upgrade automatic electronic test equipment for new products, engineering changes, and productivity improvements.
Work with manufacturing engineering to prevent defects and detect infant mortality of components and assemblies.
Support implementation of correct actions to solve production/quality issues.
Participate in new product development activities and ensure all test systems meet all regulatory requirements.
Architect production test strategy, at the board, module, and product level – including service – for Hill-Rom’s new product platforms that will deploy globally.
Global responsibility in roll-out of regulatory requirements as it pertains to production test systems and includes document development, training & validation support,
Support implementation of corrective actions to solve production/quality issues with significant knowledge of CAPA and regulatory requirements.
Provide training to ensure proper implementation and use of test systems including but not limited to FDA regulatory requirements as it pertains to Automated Test & Inspection needs.
Drive software and hardware validation of test systems.
Responsible for product life cycle management of production test systems.
Work closely with manufacturing and suppliers to architect and implement appropriate module level tests with emphasis on regulatory compliance for Hill-Rom medical devices
Project manage all Production Test Engineering work streams and assigned or contracted resources related to Electronics Platform development and deployment across the enterprise.
Responsible for timely and accurate planning, scheduling, costing, and accounting of resources.
Responsible for socializing work plans and driving consensus across the core team and key stake holders.
Responsible for the development of the global validation test strategy across all Hill-Rom sites requiring automated test solutions.
This position will serve as lead person, and can have team lead responsibilities, for Test related activities as it pertains to Automated Test System activities/efforts.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering requireed or 10 years experience in designing automated test equipment (hardware & software) with COTS RF knowledge
Experience with C, C , LabVIEW, TestStand or equivalent programming languages
PCBA, Sub-Assembly & Final Test Development Experience (Supporting, modifying & creating hardware/software
production test solutions)
Working knowledge of IEE488, RS232 and CAN communication protocols
Working knowledge and experience with National Instruments hardware & software tools
Experience with FDA regulatory compliance and understanding for Inspection, Test & Measurement Systems
