Job Description

The Application Support Analyst II role ensures that enterprise applications run optimally and provides support to end-user customers, both internal and external. This person will analyze, monitor, and support application processing and will provide operational insight to a broad audience. The Application Support Analyst II will regularly evaluate the current state of the applications, identifying opportunities that improve the end-user experience, promote automation of application processes, and participate in the design and implementation of approved solutions.

This individual requires a high level of initiative to quickly resolve or escalate mission critical issues and business inquiries.

The Application Support Analyst II serves as an escalation point for IT Support and business teams, and interacts closely with several technical and business teams for application analysis, support, and implementation.Essential Functions:

  • Takes ownership of support requests, business inquiries, analysis and project tasks with moderate supervision (60%)

  • Maintains and responds to application monitors, reports, and alerts (20%)

  • Identifies software system and process improvement opportunities and implements approved solutions (10%)

  • Creates and maintains systems documentation (10%)

Qualifications:(Education, Experience, Certifications, AND KSAS )

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of Application / Systems Support or Administration work experience. With 5+ years of appropriate experience, a Bachelor’s degree is not required

  • Experience with managing applications and processes in a virtual environment

  • Ability and initiative to analyze, research & solve complex tasks with some supervision

  • Experience running and creating simple queries against Microsoft SQL Server

  • Experience reading and creating simple PowerShell is a plus

  • Experience with application monitoring software (Solarwinds, Splunk) is a plus

  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

  • Attention to detail with maintaining application and process documentation

  • Demeanor that is adaptable, detailed and professional even in tense situations

  • Skillful in written and verbal communication to all levels of the organization
