Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) Analyst

Standard Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the execution of the service asset and configuration policies to ensure all hardware, software and applications are tracked through their entire lifecycle.

  • Support all other IT Service Management processes and procedures, while advocating the service asset and configuration management processes.

  • Initiate improvements in the tool, process, steering mechanisms and people.

  • Communicate, clearly and effectively, any changes to the service asset and configuration management policies, processes and procedures.

  • Administer and maintain the technological environment of the CMS (including the CMDB) for software licensing, Asset Management and Configuration Management.

  • Initiate and maintain a Definitive Media Library (DMS).

  • Identify opportunities for improvement at the operational level. This ensures compliance with the process.

  • Liaise with and provide reporting support to all other IT organizations, including other ITSM teams.

  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure they are communicated effectively throughout the organization. Also establish performance goals to ensure minimum thresholds are met.

  • Ensure process, procedure and other work instruction documentation is up-to-date.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with IT Operations, IT Production Support, or Change Management. Prior experience implementing a Service Asset and Configuration Management process in a medium or large, global company is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Process Improvement Methodology including defining and documenting workflow

  • Experience with CMS and/or CMDB tools is required; ServiceNow experience is strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to work closely with the business community as well as technical resources in a tactful, professional manner.

  • Functional knowledge of hardware, applications, databases and potential dependencies.

  • Ability to facilitate meeting of peers, enable discussions that leads to resolution and communicate results.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and persuade others to accomplish challenging goals and objectives.

  • ITIL v3 Foundations and/or other ITIL certification strongly preferred

  • Attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities
