Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Duration: 6+ months

Location: Columbus IN

Positions Available: 2

Shifts: One 1st shift position: w6:30 AM – 6:30 PM and One 3rd shift position 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM. Both shifts will involve 12-hour shifts covering weekends (Fri, Sat, & Sun).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The client block machining line is looking for professionals who are capable of managing different aspects of production within the machining environment.

  • Technical backgrounds in machining are preferred with Operations and Quality experience or knowledge.

  • The contractors would also be expected to assist in troubleshooting equipment downtime issues, ensuring production requirements are met through management of personnel, as well as assist in resolving quality issues.

  • Supervise hourly associates to ensure production targets are met.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.

  • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.

  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.

  • Observe worker using equipment to verify that equipment is being operated and maintained according to quality assurance standards.

  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

Qualifications: â?¯

  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.

  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

  • General machining operations knowledge.

Education / Experience:

  • Targeting candidates with Bachelors’ Degrees. Candidates with Associates Degree can also be considered provided they have many years’ relevant working experience.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ relevant working experience required. This team is seeking experienced and capable candidates to consider.
