Summary

The CPQ Developer position is responsible for evaluating, building, monitoring, and maintaining solutions based on product specifications, as well as define requirements and test changes to baseline code. The developer will work with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to elicit and translate business process and system needs into functional requirements. This position is responsible for the collection of business requirements, translation of business requirements into functional specifications, documentation and verification of processes, development of test cases, and facilitation of communications across business and technical stakeholders. The candidate needs to possess strong communication, problem solving, relationship-building, in addition to possessing knowledge and proven experience within configuration, pricing, quoting, sales and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, analytical, and innovative, will prioritize effectively, will be detail oriented and able to work with cross-functional teams.

Essential Functions

  • Work with business users to refine requirements for enhancements and translate the business needs into technical requirements

  • Provide day to day troubleshooting and technical support for end users

  • Synthesize data from various sources (sales, manufacturing, engineering) to create/maintain product configurator rules

  • Produce logic to ensure that configurations are properly validated and can be manufactured

  • Develop rules to provide a guided selling experience for order entry and our customers

  • Develop documentation to support the guided selling experience

  • Develop supporting data for manufacturing and production scheduling

  • Produce data to consume raw materials and make allowances for scrap to support inventory and costing

  • Develop other supporting data for use in the ERP system as needed

  • Manage the change process when new products or options are added

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position can be very active, sometimes requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salary position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager.

Travel

Travel will be moderate and would be primarily local during the business day.

Required Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience

  • MS office (outlook, excel, word)

  • Ability to interpret engineering prints

  • Comfortable working with those in manufacturing and occasionally being on the shop floor

  • Detail Orientation

  • Able to work on a cross functional team.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Manufacturing experience

  • General ERP knowledge

  • Bill of material maintenance

  • Quality experience

  • CAD/CAM experience

  • Inventory control experience

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to pass EVerify.
