The Design Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement. The candidate will report directly to the Engineering Leader, and collaborate with design/purchasing and shop/assembly teams on design projects. Essential Functions

  • Creates and maintains packaging design, primarily header cards, in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Creates and maintains product models and conceptual artwork for new products and projects.

  • Produces and edits promotional materials as requested by the Executive staff and/or sales department.

  • Supports the project with graphics design requirements for product/project illustration purposes.

  • Attends trade shows as needed for product analysis and market research.

  • Catalogs and files all materials in a logical and easily accessible manner; ensures they are continuously up to date.

  • Completes all tasks within expected deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position is lightly active and requires 10% standing and walking. The employee may have to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly talk and listen. This position requires typing and sitting in a chair for up to 8 hours a day.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Occasional travel will be required up to 25%

Required Education and Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in mechanical design

  • In-depth knowledge of SolidWorks (preferred) or equal 3D CAD software

  • Extensive knowledge of product design principles

  • Understanding of 3D CAD surfacing.

  • Impeccable attention to detail

  • Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively
