Job Title: Project Manager

Location: St. Louis, MO

Reports To: Program Manager

The Project Manager will lead new product development projects for the assigned business. As a team leader on diverse growth initiatives, this person will need great communication skills, teamwork skills and customer relationship management capability. This individual will lead cross-functional teams thru research, design, development and commercialization of new products. This role requires strong initiative and comfort with ambiguity in the pursuit of aggressive growth goals. The project manager will work closely with sales, marketing and engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross functional groups (including Sales,Marketing, Purchasing and Engineering) to plan, develop and deliverproduct solutions for target customers.

  • Understanding business and technical objectives of a project andmanage scope to achieve these objectives.

  • Design, develop, oversee and manage the day-to-day execution ofassigned projects.

  • Drive cross-functional teams to execute a project and managemultiple simultaneous projects with competing priorities.

  • Responsible for tracking and measuring project execution againstproject milestones.

  • Executes strategic directives with a strong emphasis on trackinginternal and external dependencies.

  • Maintain good customer relationship and communication.

  • Create detailed project documents, project plans, and other projectrelated documentation.

  • Monitor project status and provide regular communication tostakeholders from all levels in the organization as well as customers.

  • Proactively avoid potential risks that would jeopardize thecritical path of assigned projects.

  • Lead project meetings with project team members to review programtasks.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Requires bachelor's degree (project management, engineering,marketing or business) or equivalent with proven experience in productdevelopment

  • MBA or advanced degree is desirable

  • Requires at least 5 years of prior experience in product development.

  • Proven track record in leading new product projects through launchto market.

  • Will have comprehensive knowledge of project management functionssuch as planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling.

  • Excellent technical and business terminology to consult with customersand other internal staff.

  • Interpersonal skills and business acumen to work effectively withindividuals both internal and external to the company.

  • Must demonstrate strong communication, decision making and problemsolving skills.

  • Must have demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams.

  • Attention to detail with excellent time management andmultitasking/prioritization abilities.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to deliver todeadlines and budgets.

  • Manage competing priorities with minimal supervision frommanagement.

  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsincluding MS Project.

  • Consumer Goods / Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical experiencepreferred

  • Thermal packaging experience a plus

  • Must be able to travel up to 10 percent of work time.
