Senior CAD Operator

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior CAD Operator to work in our Transportation business unit supporting the GAI Indiana Roadway Team located in our Indianapolis, Fishers, Vevay and Ft. Wayne offices. As a Senior CAD Operator your duties will consist of plan preparation for road projects, training, and standards implementation. MicroStation & InRoads experience and experience with INDOT projects is necessary. Ability to perform InRoads modeling for roadway projects would be helpful. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Competence with Road plan development.

  • Training others in MicroStation and InRoads.

  • Preparing quantities and level 1 calculations.

  • Enhancing drafting automation and efficiency of the group.

  • Plan checking for conformance to standards.


  • 5-20 years of transportation design experience.

  • Associates Degree in Drafting is desired. A combination of related experience, technical coursework and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Motivated, focused, hard-worked and eager to learn.
