The Role

Lincoln Preparation Program (LPP) is a two-year development program designed to prepare high-performing, college graduates for strategic roles within our company. The goal is to accelerate the growth of associates within two years, providing them with the tools to take charge and further their career at Lincoln Financial Group. Program participants are placed within one business area for the entirety of the two-year program. At the end of the program, participants will have the option to stay on their current team or explore other open opportunities within the business.

The Associate, LPP for Retirement Sales Support will have four 6-month rotational opportunities encompassing Product, Pricing, Large Markets and Small Markets. In this role, you will research, analyze and report on P&L, trends and new markets as it relates to strategy and/or changes in strategy. You will gain a breadth of experience while interacting regularly with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership. This role will reside in Fort Wayne, IN or Radnor, PA.

  • Mentorship and Coaching/Executive Speaker Series

  • Mastery Development Curriculum

  • Virtual learning designed to support Associate's development of strategic skills. Courses are from accredited schools auch as the University of Virginia and Johns Hopkins University focusing on topics such as "Business & Growth Strategies", "Digital Transformation", "Design Thinking", and "Data Analysis".

Stretch Project

  • Strategic business assignments sponsored by a business leader that give Associate's the opportunity to gain experience and develop skills outside of their day-to-day routine.

  • Stretch assignments allow the Associate to take on new challenges and increase their enterprise knowledge while adding value to the business.

Innovation Summit

  • Development summit featuring an academic partner (i.e. Cornell University) where the Associate will learn about emerging business trends, topics and processes.

  • Associates are tasked with solving an enterprise challenge within a specified time frame (typically less than 24 hours) leveraging gained knowledge.

Program Requirements
  • College senior or recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree earned by May 2021

  • Leadership experience and potential

  • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills

  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Self motivated and results oriented

  • Outstanding academic achievements

  • Prior internship experience is a plus

  • Willingness to relocate based on program needs

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
