Parkview Health Comm Health Outreach Educator in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Serves as education resource to the community and within the organization regarding addiction and treatment services. Develops and delivers professional education to a variety of stakeholders in Wabash, Whitley, and Huntington County that supports the needs of the health system. Serves as a role model and advocate for evidence based addiction and the reduction of stigma within the community and across the health system.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Education or other related field.
RN License and/or CHES certification. LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, HSPP or LCAC preferred.
Comfortable delivering information to a variety of education levels and answering medically related questions. Must enjoy small to medium group education as well as education to individuals. Will serve as the content expert on addiction and the use of Medication Assisted Treatment as part of the care continuum. Must have good verbal, written and computer communication skills. Must demonstrate the ability to be detail-oriented and perform tasks at a high rate of accuracy. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to research different resources to create formalized education. Must be able to correspond/communicate effectively with different audiences within the health system and across the community. Must have the ability to organize work, manage time effectively and manage multiple priorities at once. Attention to detail and record keeping are key to the success of the role to support the required grant reports. Must have at least three years experience in respective field of education. Experience with community outreach and addiction is preferred.
