International Paper Company (www.internationalpaper.com), a leader in the industrial packaging industry, is looking to fill full-time production positions in its Fort Wayne Container facility. We are looking for motivated individuals who are capable of performing a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity.
As a production employee, you will be expected to effectively assist in running corrugating or finishing machines to achieve plant goals, including working safely and maintaining/improving productivity according to established methods and goals.
Production machine setup
Reading factory orders
Utilizing basic shop math and accurately reading tape measures, gauges, and other test equipment
Consistent quality and count Inspection of product
Accurately completing quality and administrative documents to ensure specific directions are followed
Securing raw materials
Participating in crew meetings, reducing waste, actively participating in team problem solving processes, and maintaining quality standards
Physical abilities require moving up to 50 lbs, pushing stacks of corrugated sheets and standing for 8 hours. Overtime hours are required.
Must be able to lift/mount print plates, cutting dies and ink buckets weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
Must be able to safely use wrenches for setting pull collars and slotting/scoring heads.
Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
Constant standing, walking and reaching at or below shoulder level, frequent twisting, bending and lifting from the ground, repetitive lifting up to 20-50 pounds.
Minimum qualifications for consideration are two years industrial manufacturing experience in a fast paced environment, with at least one year with the same employer. Highly-qualified candidates would possess manufacturing experience in the corrugated/converting industry. High School diploma or GED is required. Applicants must be willing to work a five-day work week, as well as daily and weekend overtime. We operate three shifts – applicants must be willing to work any shift. Shift preference is determined by seniority.
Prior to initiating employment, all candidates considered for employment will be required to participate in an extensive testing process, structured panel interview, background check, physical and drug testing.
Compensation includes a starting wage of $21.13/hour for the probationary period. We also offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, disability, life and accident insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
