The Role

As the Sr. Consultant, Product Owner, you will lead the teams that deliver customer facing solutions to enhance the web and mobile experience for the Participants, Plan Sponsors and Financial Professionals in the Retirement Plan Solutions line of business. You will collaborate with the Product Manager to define features that provide desired capabilities, translate them into the work the teams perform and plan the program increments and releases. You will manage the teams’ back log, prioritize work, define acceptance criteria, support business org readiness and ensure that the technology solutions meet the needs, goals and objectives of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders and/or management to gather and support prioritization of complex product requirements, providing recommendations, as appropriate.

  • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Directs, advises and collaborates with internal and/or external stakeholders to determine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and goals for complex product offering(s).

  • Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Leads requirements gathering effort on epics and documents story details based on the epics.

  • Leverages data to influence and measure the overall adoption strategy to ensure deliverables, ROI, and key objectives are met.

  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

  • Manages dependencies in and across sprints and releases.

  • Proposes solutions to stated business problems, assesses alternative solutions and identifies gaps based on knowledge of the product and how clients use the product.

  • Provides a complex understanding the business and product usage to contribute to the program vision and roadmap development.

  • Provides direction and collaborates effectively with appropriate stakeholders on complex issues and conflicts that impact time, cost, scope, quality and risk of assigned projects.

  • Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Provides subject matter expertise to clarify development requirements.

  • Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Serves as a mentor and shares knowledge with more junior team members.

  • Serves as key decision maker on priorities of product backlog, and works to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned at each stage of the development lifecycle.

  • Translates and conveys the overall business vision into technical requirements and tactics for product development.

Education

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required

Experience

  • 5-7+ Years of experience in Business Analysis, Project Management, or a product-related role within a development team that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
