Parkview North Hospital Tumor Board Scribe in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Works under general supervision to prepare all oncology patient letters from tumor board. Works with the multidisciplinary team of Medical Oncologists, Nurse Navigators, Radiation Oncologists, and Surgeons to collaborate with our site-specific clinicians as well as our Palliative, Genetic, and Nutrition teams to provide patient-specific care. Facilitates key specialists who are involved throughout the patient journey and incorporates these clinical findings into a detailed letter about diagnosis, stage, treatment, surveillance, and future prevention. Responsible for entering clinical documentation into the electronic health record (EHR) on behalf of the Tumor Site Chair (physician lead) and Nurse Navigator.
Associate's Degree in healthcare or communication related field required.
Certified Medical Assistant (CME) through AAMA or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AMT preferred.
Must have at least 1 year of experience in healthcare-related field including hospital or clinic setting. Experience in oncology, pathology, or radiology preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Understanding of patient's clinical course. Must have proficient attention to detail, proficient organizational skills, and proficient verbal and written communication skills. Electronic medical record experience preferred.
