The Human Resources (HR) Business Partner Associate works under the supervision of more senior Human Resources staff to proactively deliver Human Resources objectives and special programs within a specified region/area, in support of increased employee and organizational effectiveness.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Works under the supervision of more senior Human Resources staff to provide support to various work groups within a specified region/area. Obtains and maintains a deep understanding of business unit partners, and maintains a close accessible relationship with clients. Contributes proactively to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes and facilitates long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic agenda.

  • Develops credible and trusting relationships with leaders, managers, and employees, and assumes key role as chief HR advisor, within supported groups.

  • Proactively counsels and advises business unit partners on employee relations and performance management issues, policy & procedure interpretation, and program administration.

  • Assists business unit partners in providing employees with development opportunities that align with current and future performance standards.

  • Acts as a liaison between business unit partners and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal client needs, and identifies new opportunities for HR to add value to the business.

  • Coordinates day-to-day responses to HR issues, and partners with others in Human Resources to ensure timely delivery of HR services that directly support the accomplishment of enterprise-wide, corporate, Business Unit and departmental objectives. Works collaboratively with other HR groups and the organization to meet customer needs and expectations.

  • Assists Talent Acquisition team with onboarding activities as needed.

  • Understands and solicits employee opinions and anticipates their needs and concerns. Develops and promotes ongoing feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes.

  • Investigates and assists with the resolution of employee disputes and disciplinary activity within supported groups, and monitors trends to ensure effective management. Proactively identifies and addresses HR policy and practice needs.

  • Identifies and drives the sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement.

  • Ensures compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations including but not limited to Family Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act and Americans with Disability Act, and assists with preparation of Affirmative Action Plan(s).

  • Assists with HR special projects and cross-functional activities as needed and assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

HR Business Partner Associate:

Bachelor's Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Development or related field; OR if no degree, minimum of four years of related HR experience.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license.

HR Business Partner Associate Sr.:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Development or related field; OR if no degree, minimum of four years of related HR experience.

Experience: Two years of related HR experience (In addition to any years of experience identified above).

Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license.

Additional Information:

  • Professional certification in Human Resources, such as Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Sr. Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Society of Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) etc. is preferred.

  • Utilizes computer technology to facilitate process improvements and delivery of Human Resources services to the Business Units.

  • Keeps abreast of the latest business trends, tools and techniques through networking with external and internal groups and monitoring the business environment, etc.

  • Travel Required.
