The EHS Coordinator provides hands-on environmental, safety, and health leadership to the site management team. Responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of environmental, health and safety programs and objectives. Responsible for assuring that training of identified topics has been completed within in regulatory and internal standards. Monitors federal and state safety and health regulations and provides technical support to plant personnel to ensure compliance.

Works closely with staff in operations, management, human resources, purchasing, production, and maintenance.
Provides information and technical safety and health support to production personnel.
Prepares written safety and health programs and policies.
Identifies company safety training needs and develops a safety training plan.
Assist the local Management Team developing goals to effectively reduce workplace injuries.
Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of EHS programming.
Audits on a periodic and regular basis to evaluate facility compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
Effective implementation of Corrective Actions to assure that non-compliance issues are corrected and that workplace injuries are not repeated.
Participates in new process reviews, including process hazard analysis, standard operating procedures, employee training, etc.
Assists and supports plant leadership to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
Aids plant personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.
Maintains a safety library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).
Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company signage, email memoranda, newsletters and specific training programs.
Leads the monthly plant safety committee meetings.
Assists as needed in implementation of a near miss communication program and preparation of requested reports.
Reviews process/operating procedures/records and provides input for safety and health considerations.
Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur.
Provides technical support to plant personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
Advises manufacturing plants of regulatory changes with which the plants must comply, providing sufficient advance notice so that compliance on the effective date of new regulations is ensured.
Audits practices of manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational safety and health regulations.
Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses, restricted duty work, and worker’s compensation claims.
Reviews monthly plant safety meeting minutes and safety inspection reports and follows up as necessary.
Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
Administers first aid to ill and injured persons and provides transport to an urgent care clinic or emergency room.
Technical Understanding of EHS Software and Computer based information
Previous experience with state Environmental regulations
This position will potentially have direct reports.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are decided by the hiring manager. Occasional evening and weekend work is required as needed.
Travel is primarily local and between locations. Schedules are flexible and will possibly require infrequent out of state travel.
Preferred Education and Experience
5- 8 years’ experience in environmental, safety and health within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with OSHA, EPA, DOT Compliance, etc.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to pass EVerify.
