Covance Marketing Sr Mgr in GREENFIELD, Indiana
Key responsibilities for the Senior Marketing Manager include: initiates, develops and implements marketing and positioning strategies and marketing tactics for Early Development, which includes Discovery, Safety Assessment, Metabolism, Lead Optimization, Chemical and Crop Protection and other areas as needed. The person in this role will help define business priorities with the VP Marketing ED and execute on marketing activities that include but are not limited to:
Gathering market information on customer needs / perceptions and key competitors, and use this information to identify marketing strategies to differentiate, as well as to provide the sales team with key areas of focus in their selling efforts. Partner with business stakeholders to understand, define and help recommend strategic initiatives and conduct gap assessments.
Working with all global sites and with multiple service areas to effectively position key differentiation attributes, value proposition and segmentation messaging. The successful candidate will be proactive and collaborative, possess sound business judgment and excellent people skills, and have the capacity to manage multiple projects with aggressive deadlines.
Design and execute on targeted marketing campaigns (inclusive of awareness & nurture campaigns) and materials that drive awareness of, and preference for, Covance, in conjunction with Sales leadership and internal scientific subject matter experts.
Work with SMEs to identify key content gaps or opportunities and develop content strategy, execute on content development and layout and manage external vendors & agencies as needed.
Track performance of strategies through measurement and analysis of market penetration, opportunity creation and funnel management. Make recommendations on improvements and best practices for future programs.
Collaborate with the sales team on key focused customer initiatives / presentations that align with brand and segment strategies that enhance relationships with our customers and drive the value proposition.
Work with marketing colleagues and key stakeholders to influence and select key conferences and meetings that align to ED business strategy and priorities and develop strategy for meetings. Attending meetings as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Science, or Business preferred
Master's degree a strong plus
Minimum of a BA/BS
preferably in marketing, but will consider science and/or healthcare related field with extensive marketing experience
MBA with marketing focus a strong plus
Working knowledge of the healthcare industry
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Team orientation – helps others be successful
Strong analytical, time management and interpersonal skills
Must be a self-motivator – willing to influence events to achieve goals
Skilled in using PC based computer hardware and software including Microsoft WORD, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
Willingness to travel globally - 20% travel
8+ years marketing experience
Experience with customer marketing program planning, development, and implementation.
