Pace Analytical Services, Inc. Process Development Specialist in Greenfield, Indiana

The Process Development Specialist supports the downstream and formulations process development of new enzyme products at a R&D facility. This position will design, plan, execute and evaluate process development activities for feed enzyme products. The Process Development Specialist will also provide oversight for scheduling and execution of daily operations, maintenance and inventory relevant supplies for development activities. This position may be cross-trained into tech and manufacturing services to provide additional support. Occasional evening and/or weekend work will be required.

  • Design and execute downstream process development of proteins from a fermentation broth and feed enzyme formulations utilizing a variety of equipment and identify new techniques

  • Sample preparation and coordination for relevant offline assay

  • Execute downstream and formulations relevant analytical procedures

  • Contribute to product development, technical trouble-shooting and commercialization efforts

  • Prepare, author, review, and verify documentation to meet good documentation requirements, e.g., batch records, logbooks, sanitization records, raw material tracking records, etc

  • Interact with fermentation, analytical, TS/MS, and management in the planning and execution of experiments, and communicate experimental results and activities

  • Cross train with fermentation and analytical teams as needed to provide support for fermentation process development

  • Follow company relevant policy and SOP to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained

  • Conduct cleaning and basic maintenance of laboratory space, instrument and equipment used

  • B.S. Degree in Science, preferably in Microbiology

  • Knowledge of enzymes and/or biological systems desired

  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic team environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills and motivation to learn from technical colleagues

  • Ability to multi-task

Preferred:

  • Experience with filtration, separations and protein formulatio

  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
