/Key Areas of Responsibility/

Primary Department Responsibilities

  • Production Capability Transfer & Support – team responsibilities.

  • Establish & maintain high quality, cost effective manufacturing capabilities; machines, tools, processes, procedures, controls, etc… for the relevant products as defined by Co. management.

  • Transfer existing manufacturing capabilities from our parent or sister companies or develop local solutions as best to support our cost, quality and scope targets.

  • Maintain technical functionality of all manufacturing capabilities to ensure that OEE Overall Equipment Effectiveness is maintained at or above Co. standards.

  • Coordinate interpretation and translation efforts for design data from European/Asian to American norms.

  • Lead project team efforts for the implementation of new and changing production processes & equipment.

  • Create and maintain operating system master data.

  • Support development and operation of the TPM program

  • Support LEAN development within the manufacturing and related support functions.

General Technical Support

  • Provide technical support (product, materials, manufacturing processes & equipment, industrial standards, etc…) to Production, Quality Assurance & Sourcing.

  • Maintain local oversight of all operational dependent technical sub-systems and their respective interfaces; TDB, CER, Production Network, Safety Systems, etc.

  • Support troubleshooting and repair of highly technical electrical and mechanical malfunctions when necessary.

Product Technical Support

  • Provide product technical support to Production and Sourcing as it relates to their scope of need.

  • Utilize coaching techniques to develop and engage employees, both in corrective action and skill development situations. Routine performance discussions should be conducted multiple times a year to maintain engagement and progress toward goals.

  • Proactively develops direct report s leadership competencies through ongoing coaching and counseling.

  • Identifies and supports the development of individual competencies by providing career counseling as the employee initiates his/her own career planning.

  • Exhibits high levels of professionalism and quickly grasps organizational concepts.

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with common programs.

  • 5-10 years experience directly supervision.

  • Ability to create and interpret business periodicals, reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

  • Must have a strong technical background.

  • Strong ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts.

  • Ability to delegate projects and/or tasks effectively.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Project Management tools

  • Possess the ability to identify problems and resolve conflict.

  • Be able to understand business concepts and apply them.

  • Experience developing and maintaining a successful TPM program in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong working experience with LEAN manufacturing methodology, tools and implementation.


  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP.

  • Experience directly managing supervisors.

/Minimum Education and Experience/

Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.S.) in a technical discipline (ME, EE, IE) from a four year college or university, 10-15 years related work experience and/or training, and 5-10 years supervision experience in an Industrial Engineering environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Approximately 10 %, domestic and international.
