Summary of Position

The Associate - Channel, will provide strategic input and day-to-day implementation for Corporate Affairs social channels and our flagship website, with the goal of enhancing our presence in the global digital environment and advancing our business priorities around the world.

To maintain a competitive advantage for Lilly’s digital presence and campaigns, the Associate Consultant, Channel, will collaborate cross-functionally with various contributors regarding the digital environment and develop appropriate engagement plans.

This individual will also serve as a key backup to the Digital/Social Media Community Strategist and Senior Specialist, and will become an administrator of major global communications channels.

The position is located in Indianapolis, reporting to the Channel Director.


  • Collaborate closely with the Creative and Channel teams, as well as the Global Enterprise and Reputation teams, subject matter experts and project managers to deliver work that aligns to Lilly’s objectives and drives results.

  • In partnership with the Channel Director, coordinate day-to-day execution of social media and, ensuring that the channels meet Lilly and platform standards and strategy.

  • Work with those who provide content to ensure submitted content is optimized for web and social channels.

  • Consult with key business partners on digital content strategies to ensure they ladder up to overall company objectives, brand guidelines and meet channel scope requirements.

  • Collaborate with Content team and other creators to optimize content for digital platforms.

  • Coordinate day-to-day content upload, page creation and documentation for, provide regular updates on metrics of the platform.

  • Liaise with Lilly's Enterprise Web Initiative account manager regarding new capabilities and troubleshooting issues for

  • Coordinate day-to-day execution of social media, ensuring that content meets Lilly and platform standards and strategy.

  • Coordinate and direct community management and social listening duties with agency partners.

  • Provide regular social media updates on monitoring and metrics.

  • Serve as an author and publisher in’s content management system and an administrator for Corporate Affairs social media channels, and assist with training others.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of agency and/or in-house experience working with corporate websites and social media platforms.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field.

Additional Skills/Preference:

  • Demonstrated success running digital campaigns for a business or organization.

  • Understanding of and experience with content management systems and UX design principles.

  • Ability to think strategically and broadly and translate strategy into action.

  • Excellent learning agility, emotional intelligence and maturity.

  • Ability to be a flexible team player with the highest ethical and business standards.

  • Ability to interface professionally and persuasively with corporate leaders and managers and ability to negotiate solutions.

  • Superb verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience working globally and externally preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply practical or technical knowledge where no direction is given.

  • Strong organization and project management skills.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and deal with rapidly changing priorities and timelines.

  • Knowledge and understanding of key marketplace factors for pharmaceuticals, as well as critical business issues and drivers.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to think quickly, analytically to accommodate a dynamic communications environment.

  • Understanding of and experience with CMS and UX design principles.

  • Works well under pressure, responds to feedback well and keeps a positive attitude.

Additional Information:

  • Some international and domestic travel expected as conditions and business need arise.

  • Located in Indianapolis or telecommute from other US location.
