Business Information Developer Consultant Senior

The preferred locations for this position are Georgia, Indiana, Virginia and Illinois

(but other locations may be considered)

The Business Information Developer Consultant Senior is viewed as an expert in the development and execution of data mining analyses. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement improvements in performance optimization, query tuning and scalability across major business-critical systems.

  • Perform SDLC deployment of DB objects, Jobs, Packages and report objects.

  • Owns the change request process and coordinates with other teams as necessary. Develops and owns list of final enhancements.

  • Incumbent should also have the ability to mentor others, and provide troubleshooting support.

  • Undertakes complex assignments requiring additional specialized technical knowledge.

  • Develops very complex and varied strategic report applications from a Data Warehouse.

  • Establishes and maintains advanced knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, and data integrity issues.

  • Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.

  • Monitors project schedules and costs for own and other projects.

  • Develops and supports very complex Data Warehouse-related applications for business areas requiring design and implementation of database tables.

  • Conducts training on use of applications developed.


  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field; minimum of 10 years’ experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • 8+ years’ SQL Server experience required.

  • 5+ years’ Informatica experience required using Informatica 9.1/8.6.1/8.5/8.1/7.1 PowerCenter Client tools - Mapping Designer, Repository manager, Workflow Manager/Monitor.

  • Extensive experience in developing Stored Procedures, Functions, Views and Indexes, Complex SQL queries using SQL Server required with ability to manipulate large sets of data.

  • Expertise in query optimization, performance tuning, query statistics analysis required.

  • Experience with Job Schedulers like Tidal or Control–M required.

  • Experience with either of the reporting tool of Tableau or SSRS required.

  • Experience with Cost of Care processes and/or financial reporting preferred.

  • Experience with SSIS preferred.

  • Experience with Teradata, Oracle database technologies preferred.

  • Experience with SAS preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels within the organization.

  • This job is focused on spending time thinking about programming and how it would be used to design solutions as compared to the Business Information Developer Consultant job.
