Overview:
Our client owns and operates data centers all over the world, helping to keep the internet humming 24/7. Relentless focus on innovation has made their data centers some of the most high-performing, secure, reliable, and efficient data centers in the world.
The communications team leads internal and external communications for this large, global mission-critical team. This can include the client’s intranet, media library, websites, presentations, and videos.
Overall responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the comms team lead, you’ll work on a variety of projects for the global organization that include written and visual content. You’ll primarily be managing the communications intranet, working with a team of volunteer contributors to ensure fresh content is posted weekly. You’ll also be managing updates and improvements to the website, learning to use our content management system. You’ll use your program management skills to help the team manage projects, schedules, and deliverables and you’ll support other members of the comms team with a variety of programs and process improvements.
Your assignments may include the following:
Support for project and program team in daily activities
Development and execution of program-level communications plan
Precise writing and editing
Management of program deliverables including meeting minutes, communications, schedules, and other artifacts
Coordination and collaboration with program stakeholders
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university. Minimum four years of related experience. Prior Supervisory experience preferred.
Preferred:
Education: BA in communications-related field
4+ years of experience in communications/program management
Solid program management skills
Exceptional writing, editing, and copy editing skills
Creative, compelling storyteller
Organized and highly methodical, exacting attention to detail
Expertise with G Suite products, especially Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides
Ability to quickly adopt the client’s voice, reflecting our distinctive company culture/values
Ability to learn new technologies and software quickly
Confident, innovative, and intellectually curious
A passion for visual aesthetics
Interest in learning about data centers
Candidates will be asked to submit a writing sample during the interview process using a specific prompt
Nice to Have:
Experience in media production
Familiarity with web design, development, and localization process
Experience with Google Sites
Experience working with graphics, photos, video
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
PgMP (Program Management Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certifications preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Strong process skills, negotiating, decision-making and analytical skills are necessary. Demonstrated ability in project management processes, tools and techniques.
Ability to build and maintain effective professional/client relationships.
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
Pay range is $75-115k, dependent on experience, skills, and regional market.
This role is bonus eligible.
