Major Tool .and. Machine, Inc. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT CO-OP/INTERN in Indianapolis, Indiana

Major Tool and Machine is looking for a full-time Continuous Improvement Co-Op Intern to join us for the entirety of the school semester. Co-op interns will be on-site at Major Tool 40 hours per week and must be a current university student. The successful candidate will be analytically inclined and good at problem solving.Duties:i Project duties will be determined and assigned by the CI Engineer. Possible tasks may include:o Supporting Campus-wide Continuous Improvement initiativeso Assist team with efforts to increase efficiency, decrease defects, and reduce costo Assist CI team with 6S effortso Assist CI Engineer/Team by completing time studies, spaghetti diagrams, and process mapping/diagrammingo Creating metric data charts to track current production resultso Collaborate with CI Engineer to complete Pareto analysis on completed metric chartso Identify problematic areas and collaborate with CI team to implement mitigation/corrective actions including Root Cause Analysis (RCA)o Develop Lean Standard Work training material to support high volume production manufacturingo Collaborating with Production personnel to provide process improvement methodologies and practical application experience in support of improving manufacturing methodsEducational Experience i Degree Requirements: MET, MfgET, ME, or IE.i Must be currently enrolled in a college or univeristy and completing sophomore or junior academic year.iExperience i Previous CI experience preferred.
