Facebook is seeking a summer intern candidate to join the Design, Engineering, and Construction organization. The candidate should have a desire to work in a fast-paced design, engineering, and construction environment and willing to work in a number of different capacities including: -Mechanical and Electrical Distribution System and Equipment R&D-Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and/or Controls Engineering and Architectural Design-Infrastructure Construction Management-Estimating-Financial Forecasting and Controls-Scheduling-Quality-Safety-Execution Management-Telecommunications Design and Installation The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and comfortable working with internal and external partners.

Required Skills:

  1. Work with existing staff on the team they are assigned to in the fulfillment of their core responsibilities. The responsibilities will differ based upon the assigned team.

  2. Work on a “Capstone” project for their assignment that they will present to the Intern Steering Committee at the end of their summer internship.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction/Project management.

  2. Experience with process improvement.

  3. Experience researching questions and proposing solutions to problems.

  4. Experience in SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  5. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Basic knowledge of the data center industry.

  2. Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and high voltage transmission.

  3. Knowledge of structured cabling.

  4. Knowledge of complex HVAC systems.

  5. Knowledge of general design and construction industry practices and processes.

  6. Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
