In this role, you will lead Clinical Program Operations Consultants and Clinical Trial Project Management Associates toward an operational strategy with the desired design/study/program goals to effectively and innovatively lead the implementation of clinical development programs. You'll seek knowledge from internal and external sources and use this information to shape development plans and continuous improvement opportunities. It will be key to partner with other leaders to ensure the organization continues to strive for maximal customer value by adapting to feedback, inspiring change and working in an integrated manner. Responsibilities you will have as part of this role include:

Clinical Operations:

  • Apply knowledge and experience to influence leadership with respect to clinical development and implementation options to drive efficiency and innovation opportunities

  • Ensure alignment between overall clinical operational strategy and the tactical implementation of clinical development for molecules managed by team members

  • Develop and implement integrated clinical operations development plan for assigned molecule(s)

  • Demonstrate expertise across portfolio to enable expedited and innovative study and submission results delivery

  • Actively engage in operational implementation discussions in partnership with the organizational leadership team (e.g., site selection, CRO selection, etc.) to enable efficiency and consistency across portfolio

People Management and Employee Development:

  • Attract, retain and develop a diverse workforce. Ensure sufficient resources and expertise are available to maintain services provided by the team; taking into account current diversity and inclusion guidelines in making hiring decisions

  • Model behaviors and establish an environment where performance and results are valued, and where individuals are learning and growing developmentally

  • Provide supporting environment for staff to explore creative solutions to business problems and implement strategic and tactical decisions

  • Manage succession planning, talent assessment and performance/promotion processes. Ensure high talent staff are appropriately rewarded and developed

  • Coach and mentor department personnel, and as needed, cross-functional members, promoting development and growth of all team members

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science related field

  • 5-years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry with direct experience of managing clinical studies, ideally exploratory and biopharmaceutics clinical development (7+ year preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of regulations and guidelines that apply to the conduct of clinical trials.
