FinishMaster Director, eCommerce and Digital Strategy in Indianapolis, Indiana

The FinishMaster Way

As the Director, eCommerce and Digital Strategy you will be responsible for the digital consumer experiences across all touch points, and for the process of enterprise-wide digital transformation. This role will be located in our Indianapolis corporate office.

The role has three primary focus areas: 1) maximize revenue to core business through eCommerce, 2) reach new customer segments and buying occasions through robust transactional eCommerce platforms, and 3) enhance the customer experience enterprise-wide through digital innovation.

Building Strategy

  • Develop and lead execution of enterprise wide eCommerce, digital, and marketing strategies to advance FinishMaster’s mission and vision

  • Lead eCommerce and digital strategic planning process to identify and take advantage of market, industry and economic opportunities

  • Partner with key cross-functional leaders to ensure all relevant organizational goals and implications are factored into eCommerce and digital strategy and projects

  • Consults on cross-functional projects to ensure eCommerce principles are incorporated

Creating Content, Sites, and Marketing

  • Directly oversees all aspects of eCommerce business including; business planning, content strategy and development, promotional campaigns and other online marketing, website design, customer service, web analytics and web technologies

  • Develop and oversee the effective planning, QA, and execution of content across enterprise websites and online marketing campaigns to ensure efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of all web content publishing

  • Oversee the processes, relationships, and tools that result in the successful execution of the digital vision, ensuring that digital products and programs optimize the SMART products brand

  • Generate and implement new sales and marketing initiatives to increase eCommerce and core business sales and profitability

  • Support internal business partners in identifying, developing, and executing digital (web, mobile, and future technologies)-based programs and utilize persuasive skills to drive the prioritization of initiatives with the greatest strategic impact

Ensuring Customer Content and Engagement

  • Manage the user experience of the website(s) including site navigation, content development, checkout funnel and promotional campaigns

  • Drives customer retention by building a differentiated and “sticky” online offer

  • Sets and executes strategies that identify, acquire, and retain high LV customers

Overseeing Team and Budgets

  • Build and direct a cohesive team of internal and external personnel to effectively develop eCommerce solutions

Managing to Key Metrics

  • Manage all aspects of web analytics related to eCommerce and communicate relevant information to team members, executive leadership and business partners

  • Drives change management to build a culture rich in data driven decision making and test/learn/iterate behaviors

  • Works with internal and external resources to improve YOY performance and overall eCommerce sales channel contribution

Education:

Mandatory Requirements-

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Requirements-

  • MBA

Experience:

  • 7+ years experience leading a team

  • 7+ years experience working in digital/eCommerce

  • Project management experience

Preferred Requirements-

  • Preferred 10+ years experience leading a team

  • Preferred 10+ years working in digital/eCommerce

  • Established expertise in developing an innovative digital marketing strategy and technology roadmap to drive profitable sales, promote the organization, build brand awareness/preference/demand, and achieve corporate strategic goals while providing a best-in-class customer experience

  • Experience building and executing an eCommerce strategy for a complex multichannel distribution business with significant historical emphasis on a branch- and field-based selling process

Competencies/Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of how to optimize and integrate web, mobile, social, video, and search mediums to provide the most effective customer experience and information gathering

  • Recognized as a visionary leader with a competitive mindset to enter and win in a competitive market and a proven track record of creating value (internally and externally) while transforming the corporation’s digital presence

  • Proven experience in digital media analytics, program management, relationship management, financial planning and budgeting to develop integrated marketing strategies and to make informed business decisions

  • Strong analytic skills to determine organizational needs and the ability to develop effective strategic digital marketing and communication plans that achieve the functional objectives for the enterprise

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with highly technical IT resources and assimilate communication to non-technical business partners.

  • Excellent and proven critical thinking skills to quickly evaluate issues, troubleshoot, and prioritize accordingly

  • Proven ability to drive for results and lead continuous improvement efforts

  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environments

  • Build relationships and work effectively cross-funtionally
