PDS Tech Inc Field Technician in Indianapolis, Indiana

PDS Tech is seeking a Field Technician, in Indianapolis, IN.

Summary:

Supports delivery of maintenance and/or upgrades to existing customer-owned equipment or installation of new equipment. Additional duties extend to customer training on products, services and upgraded capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and instrumentation of gas furnaces and fan coils in laboratory test stands.

  • Run and monitor tests on gas furnaces and fan coils under the direction of engineers.

  • Use computer to collect and communicate test data with engineers.

  • Modify and fabricate test units and test setups as directed by engineers.

Key Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of and ability to trouble-shoot HVAC systems – especially gas furnaces

  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

  • Familiarity and ability to use data systems, databases, and specialized lab testing software

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and instrumentation

  • Mechanical Aptitude – use of basic hand tools in a lab environment

  • Electrical Aptitude – electrical/electronic knowledge, able to perform basic wiring tasks, read wiring diagrams and use a Volt/Ohm meter

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities

  • Ability to comprehend and comply with EH&S Practices & Policies and Ethics Practices

  • Experience working in a team and matrix environment

  • Proven capacity to self-direct/motivate with a vision toward future goals

Education/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional specialized courses or short-term. OR Associates Degree, Technical / Business School Certificate or Diploma, Skilled Trades Apprenticeship, or other post high school training preferred. **
