Position Description:

The Lilly Marketing Studios (LMS) Digital Brand Lead (DBL) is a Digital expert with deep technical, creative and marketing knowledge. The DBL embeds with a dedicated Brand Team through Agile Pods and is accountable for overseeing a team of developers to develop banners, emails and web content and consulting on additional tactic types. The DBL will partner with existing Lilly Marketing Studios (LMS) resources and the brand team to orchestrate and facilitate the technical aspect of campaign design/creation and executions through LMS Digital, creative agency, external partners and internal IDS organizations.

This position requires a multifaceted understanding of the Eli Lilly Marketing and Information process and technology eco-system to offer recommendations to leadership to optimize processes and leverage technology appropriately. Metrics associated with the Digital Brand Lead role include the quality, speed, and cost management of our digital marketing materials creation and deployment.

This position will report to Director, LMS Digital.


  • Digital Point of Contact to the brand to serve as a point of escalation, consultation and delivery of digital tactics

  • Identify Continual Service Improvement (CSI) opportunities across Multi-Channel Engagement (MCE), Lilly Marketing Studios (LMS) and Lilly USA IDS processes and technologies

  • Provide technical oversight and leadership to development staff

  • Provide technical oversight on development best practices

  • Provide technical consultation to external agencies

  • Develop an understanding of brand campaign strategy and assist in design patterns that meet those objectives

  • Consult with brands, LMS, vendors and agencies to encourage re-use of existing tactics, template creation and utilization, and cost avoidance with external vendors/AORs.

  • Provide technical oversight for third party integrations

  • Develop proof of concepts to drive strategy and innovation

  • Ensure adherence to models and design patterns established by the UX Design Team

  • Provide technical consultation to the UX Design Team

  • Assist in development of platform capabilities that can be leveraged across brands (e.g. federation, third party system integration, etc.)

  • Identify global procedural improvements influencing regulatory, medical and legal teams that can be leveraged across brands

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 5 years of digital marketing techniques and campaign techniques

  • 5 years modern web technologies (AWS, Node, GitHub, etc.)

  • 5 years web development experience (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)

Key Skills Required

  • Ability to analyze and develop best practices while influencing regulatory boundaries

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and site launches at once

  • Strong Team and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
