Masco Corporation Maintenance Technician (Electrical/Mechanical/First Shift) in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Description


This role will support laboratory efficiencies by maintaining laboratory infrastructure through improvements, maintenance initiatives, and testing support.

Job Summary:

The Indianapolis Engineering Laboratory team assists in the design, development, certification, and improvements to existing products by providing product testing services of performance and endurance to many different industry standards.

The majority of the lab equipment is custom built and the infrastructure is crafted specifically for our needs. The equipment and infrastructure are key to maintaining efficiency and meeting customer expectations.


  • Work in a 4 to 7-person team environment.

  • Work with laboratory test equipment such as flow meters, pressure gauges, and thermocouples.

  • Work with equipment control wiring and electrical components such as plc's, relays, servo controllers, and national instruments cards.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Trouble shoot, repair, and maintain test equipment

  • 5s organization of lab environment

  • Infrastructure upgrades as needed

  • Assist with test setup

  • Equipment documentation creation


  • Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis

  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal team member

  • Must possess good organization and project management

  • Mechanically minded with the desire to want to know how things work is helpful

  • Working knowledge with servo controls, plc's and control wiring is preferred


The ideal candidate will possess an AS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology or related field and 2+ year of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
