Responsibilities :

Apply statistical reasoning and good data visualization practices to:

• Develop data visualizations in R and R/Shiny to visually community key clinical study results.

• Create HTML widgets to facilitate data visualization and enhance our capabilities

Visual Analysis

• A record of working on open source and getting pull requests accepted by an open community.

• Good understanding of software development data structures

• DOM and DOM+SVG manipulation

• Assist in and/or be accountable for selecting visualization methods for data analysis, authoring specifications for the visualization, and conducting the analysis once a reporting database is created.

• Maintain proficiency with respect to relevant programming languages methodologies in data visualization.

• Effectively utilize interactive tools for quick visualization of data.

• Justify methods selected.

• Conduct peer-review of work products from colleagues.

• Communication and interpretation of data visualization results

• Aware of and adopts emerging technologies related to visual analytics as appropriate

• Share learning via seminars and training

• Influence others to adopt visualization techniques that improve productivity and communication of results

Basic Qualifications

• PhD in Biostatistics, Computer Science, Data Visualization or Data Sciences.

• Comfortable using GitHub, modern data visualization programming language(s) and interactive data visualization tool(s).

• Expertise in R and R/Shiny. Knowledge of integrating JavaScript into R by creating HTML widgets.

• Proficiency in data wrangling using R.

• Interpersonal/teamwork skills for effective interactions

• Technical growth and application with working knowledge of statistics and statistical/visualization software

• Self-management skills with a focus on results for timely and accurate completion of competing deliverables

• Creativity and innovation

• Demonstrated problem solving ability and attention to detail

• Data analysis, technology, and systems expertise

Additional Information

• All interns will be considered for full-time positions based on their performance over the course of their summer internship
