Validity Quality Assurance Engineer in Indianapolis, Indiana

About the Role

Validity is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer (QE) to join its QE team. Reporting to the Manager of Quality Assurance, you will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle. You will contribute to the building and enhancement of the test infrastructure by developing manual and automated testing that ensures a robust, high quality end-product. Specifically, you will:

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand product requirements, work closely with developers and product management to create test plans and test cases

  • Participate in requirement review, test case reviews, planning sessions

  • Develop an efficient, scalable Automation framework to test web services and APIs

  • Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution

  • Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process

  • Communicate complexities of tasks and estimated timelines to team members and stakeholders

    Required Experience, Skills, and Education

  • Experience in manual and automated testing

  • 5+ year of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer

  • 5+ Experience in automation testing using a variety of frameworks and tools such as Protractor, Cypress.io, CircleCI, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.

  • 5+ years of software QA automation experience working with the following technologies: JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, Python, etc.

  • Experience building UI test frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, etc.)

  • Experience in building test frameworks with CI/CD pipelines, modern SDLC (GitHub, Jenkins, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience testing REST APIs using tools like Postman

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment; working with product and development teams to determine QA parameters

    Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education

  • Working knowledge of continuous integration

  • Experience in developing and maintaining a CI/CD process for enterprise SaaS

  • Experience developing, documenting, and acceptance testing restful APIs in Postman

  • Well-versed in testing and automating web applications and databases

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience
