Quality Auditor (Coatesville, Indiana)
The Assembly Quality Auditor is responsible for performinginspection or auditing of finished assembled units, kits, purchased parts andaccessories to determine conformity to specifications; system audits such as QMSrelated functions.The employee isresponsible for performing inspection and/or auditing to determine conformityto specification which may include using various measuring and testingequipment.
Investigates,analyzes, and assures accuracy of information entered
Qualitymanaged data collection tools as directed by Quality Engineer / Manager.
Providesstatistical and graphical analysis of data. Uses data to implement errorproofing tools, system and processes to prevent defects.
Hasknowledge of and makes use of sampling plans.
Plansand performs work accurately and in a cost-efficient manner.
Participatesin root cause and corrective action activities, failure investigations, metricscreation and quality improvement projects.
Appliesmodern quality principles, concepts, and methods, including Lean Manufacturingand process variation management tools to continuously improve processes andensure the quality of products offered.
Therewill be a strong focus given to defect prevention, control plan audits and endof the line inspection audits. Must be able to identify and implementcorrective actions for quality issues.
Understandingof the QMS processes and participation in programs that consistently meet orexceed our customers’ quality standards and maintain full compliance withQuality Systems.
Knowledgeof inspection gauges and methods including but not limited to micrometers,calipers, height gauge, CMM.
Employeewill use engineering drawings, inspection plans, work instructions, finalassembly drawings, and bills of materials or other specifications to performinspection of finished assembled, internal manufactured parts or processes.
Responsiblefor conducting in-process auditing for all work stations.
Performsproduct or process troubleshooting as required. Interfaces with DesignEngineering, Quality Engineering, Purchasing or other groups on issuespertaining to product and/or process discrepancies.
Maintainsappropriate documentation to assist in product traceability and to supportother quality programs.
Performto an established methods and standards; meeting or exceeding the departmentsquality and productivity goals.
Workwith limited supervision.
Communicatewell with others and work in a manner to support a team environment.
Performto company 5S standard.
Responsiblefor maintaining communication to appropriate management and support personnelconcerning safety, quality, and any issues as they arise.
Performs other duties within the scope of jobassignment as assigned by Team Leader, Quality Engineer or Manager.
Must perform duties in compliance with all safetyrules and regulations required by the Company, Local, State and Federalprovisions.
Associate or Technical Degree or engineering support experience in automotive or golf car industry preferred.
Musthave a High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Quality Assuranceor related area.
Mustbe trained in applicable quality system procedures and work instructions.
Mustbe able to learn and employ a variety of computer systems and software programssuch as, but not limited to, MS Windows, Excel and SAP and/or Oracle.
Knowledge of blueprintreading is preferred.
Ability to read,analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability toeffectively present information and respond to questions from groups ofmanagers, clients, customers, and the public.
Ability to applyconcepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practicalsituations.Basic algebra andtrigonometry skills are preferred.
Ability to defineproblems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Strong verbalcommunication skills required.
Ability to act astechnical resource for departmental inspection, receiving inspection, inprocess auditing, and final inspection.
Moderate computerand statistical analysis skills preferred.
Mustbe detailed oriented to support and maintain accuracy of records.
Must be able tostand, lift, bend and stoop.
Must be able tolift 40 lbs. and more with assistance.
Regularlyrequired to talk or hear.
Occasionallyrequired to climb or balance and smell.
Specific visionabilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colorvision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
