Aerotek Quality Control Technician in Indianapolis, Indiana
The primary responsibilities of the candidates will be responsible for ensuring quality control standards are up to par, and no issues arise on the production line. QC is an in-process discipline of quality... making sure the product is being produced correctly. Cross training in both the lab and production quality standards will be given, and any candidate that takes the initiative to learn more will be given the opportunity.
There are 10+ lines running different products at any given time in the plant. The QC Techs will split the lines evenly for the day, and take responsibility for the quality of the lines production (80%). This includes accurate filling of the bottles (most frequent quality issue, but relatively minor), torque (how tight to caps are screwed on), labeling (major issue would be that the label isn't on the bottle), etc. Candidates will collect a sample at the beginning, middle, and end of each batch.. with an in process sample every 30 minutes. The quality spec will be outlined on the "spec sheet" that the techs use daily. The sheets look like a recipe checklist and are product specific... Techs will take these sheets around and confirm that the prod. lines are adhering to the specifics. QC Techs will also be responsible for basic line audits.
In the lab (20%), candidates will document results, compare samples, and perform pH testing, viscosity, titrations, weighs, and other basic measurements.
Most of the testing is done by the head lab techs and lab manager, but candidates will get trained on all the techniques within the first 6 weeks.

Communication Skills (Able to communicated with lab manager, maintenance, production, etc)
