Medxcel Facilities Management SQL Developer in Indianapolis, Indiana

The SQL Developer has primary responsibility for developing and supporting business solutions in a predominantly packaged software environment for Medxcel throughout the assigned working location of the Central Office - Indianapolis, IN. Based on business process models, technical designs and information models, associates in this role will use the package software’s development framework to deliver proposed solutions. This position will support the Facilities Management business in data transformation, including Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) procedures, and data management through tightly governed processes. This operational support role will hold primary ownership of operational and compliance reporting using report building tools to query, transform and display data through various reporting methods.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain new and existing SQL reporting objects

  • Provide business users the data required for metrics and analysis

  • Perform quality checks on reports and exports to ensure exceptional quality – perform query optimization to maximize resource availability

  • Write technical procedures and documentation for the application interfaces developed

  • Work in an object-oriented, multi-developer environment with version control, change management and continuous improvement protocols

  • Work closely with business users and PMO to review requirements; develop, recommend and discuss technical designs that meet those requirements

  • Coordinate data migration of existing original data sources from various platforms into operational data stores

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or computer related field or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree

Experience:

  • 5-10 years’ experience as an application engineer; 7-10 years’ experience without a degree

  • 3-5 years of experience developing SQL scripts, stored procedures and SSIS package design

  • Experience with ETL process design and documentation

  • Experience with data modeling including normalization, logical and physical designs preferred

  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Proficient with SSMS, SSRS, SSIS

  • Ability to manage time and set priorities amidst multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex matters in an efficient and accurate manner
