Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture. Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience. This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado. About the Opportunity: Oracle Hospitality Global Business Unit's R&D Team is seeking a talented Sr. Engineering Portfolio Manager to grow the team Worldwide. This role is responsible for establishing and enabling multiple business teams within R&D and hire and ramp up talented Software Developers while actively participating in the definition of Cloud-Native Applications development. Responsibilities include people management, project oversight, and developing strategic objectives. Accountable for fulfilling Cloud-Native architecture goals, maintaining project/portfolio quality, and delivering a large-scale, complex application. Our successful candidate will be technically adept, be detail-driven, and have excellent problem-solving abilities with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will interface with multiple teams daily and drive collaboration between developers, UX, QA, Solution Architects, and operation and site reliability teams. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. You will act as a peer leader, gain stakeholder buy-in, negotiate, and lead the virtual team worldwide to drive KPI and deliverables. Ability to travel as needed. Key Responsibilities * A direct experience in developing Cloud Native Application, Cloud Migration, and Project management. * Understand Business Trends, Drive Innovation and Build Service Portfolios, especially in Cloud Platform & Modernization. * Keen to produce best-in-class results, motivate and influence other team members in a stressful situation. * Consistently drives high standards across the Globe with peers, the team, and the organization to accomplish critical goals on time. * Consulting and project management experience in a SaaS environment is a plus. * Spearheaded and successfully mitigate any process, technical, or quality impediments for various teams. * Compares information from multiple sources to identify core issues. Uses data to make decisions but also understands that instinct plays a part in innovating. * Demonstrate ability to maintain composure in a stressful situation. * Consulting and project management experience in a SaaS environment is a plus. * Highly analytical, technically proficient, and able to learn new tools and software quickly. * Proficient with SDLC Processes and have proven experience in delivering large infrastructure and software development projects using Agile methodologies. * Communicates information and ideas to individuals and teams in an articulate, focused, and compelling way. * Shall possesses excellent verbal & communication skills and a passion for presenting the organization's new learning. * Demonstrate dedication and responsibility in delivering results and shall be Team Player and Lead by Example by understanding Organization Goals. Ideal Experience * MS in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. * 10 years of experience in IT projects with 5 years of experience in managing teams. * Consulting and project management experience in SaaS environments is a must. * Passionate team player and think through the bigger picture of the product and represent the team contributions. * Good knowledge of Cloud Platforms & Migrations, IT Modernization. * Passion for product architecture understanding. * Excellent Communication, Presentation, and speaking skills. * Demonstrated expertise in working on Cloud Native product development. * PMP Certification or SAFe Product Owner/Project Manager. * OCI/AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud Certifications.
