As a member of our GPS team, you will join a talented group of professionals serving in key roles advising US federal agencies addressing issues in performance improvement, program effectiveness, audit and audit readiness, financial management and IT advisory. Your Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities as a senior manager on the SLED Health & Human Services (HHS) team include serving as a key resource in managing the day-to-day activities in support of building relationships throughout the HHS agencies and departments while driving growth and delivery activities. We anticipate up to 40% of your time involving new business development, origination activities and capture efforts, while 60% of your time will be focused on delivering on new business sold to your client. You will contribute to project delivery by overseeing, participating in and reviewing the parameters of the consulting work under contract; participating in resource planning and development; and managing both contract and client expectations.

Experience working in and/or with various state HHS organizations toinclude policy, process and platforms as a state employee, outside vendor orboth
Demonstrated working knowledge and aptitude in some of our keycapabilities (e.g., Program Management Office functions, project oversight andmanagement, applicable industry platforms and technologies, IT general andapplication controls, risk management, information security and informationassurance)
Encouragement and facilitation of collaboration among team members andpromoting an inclusive environment
Effective organization and time management skills with the ability tomultitask and adhere to project deadlines
Ability to lead certain engagement activities from planning through toexecution
Contributions to business development and client pursuit activities bypreparing proposals, marketing presentations for potential clients and thoughtleadership brochures
Ability to communicate issues, status and thought leadership to partnersand clients
Ability to build impactful relationships with key influencers toeffectively manage work and generate new business opportunities
Ability to share leading practices and insights about current industryor subject-matter topics with EY US leaders, proposal teams and clients
Ability to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams, includingsupporting people-related initiatives (e.g., recruitment, retention, training,competency development)
Ability to develop people through effective leadership, coaching,mentoring and performance assessment of all levels
To qualify for the role you must have
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis on Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a business-related field and a minimum of eight years of recent consulting or relevant industry experience (with at least four years of recent consulting experience preferred), with the ability to show a significant client impact and results, or a master’s degree and six years of relevant work experience, and at least six years of experience leading teams on engagements.
Knowledge and experience working for a federal or state agency in the following areas:
Project or program centralization or transformation
Business operating model assessment or creation
Strategic alignment frameworks
Resource planning and management
Innovation collaboration and management
Organizational change management
Demonstrated ability to develop long-term clientrelationships and a portfolio of new business
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance orhigher is preferred
The GPSpractice’s staffing model is to assign resources to projects aligned tothe office within the metropolitan area for which you have been hired; however,in certain circumstances, travel may be required within and/or beyond yourgeographic region based on client and project needs. For roles within thefederal practice, the flexibility to travel up to approximately 30% ispreferred. Within the SLED practice, the flexibility to travel up toapproximately 80% is preferred.

What we look for
Top performers have experience leading client service projects, business devolvement efforts and internal growth initiatives. The candidate should have experience delivering services for project plans on large, complex engagements. Experience with federal or state agencies, often gained by working in a Big Four global management consulting firm or a blue-chip company focused on the government and public sector, is a plus.
