Position location: This position is ideally located in Indianapolis, IN or Chicago, IL offices. Other office locations may be considered.
The Diversified Business Group (DBG) at Anthem is dedicated to providing innovative solutions and care delivery models to personalize and integrate care for those with complex and chronic conditions. The DBG Program Management Office/Integration Management Office supports the DBG mission by delivering on large scale acquisition integration and operational initiatives.
Core functions of the Program Management Office/Integration Management Office include: partnering with existing business units to improve operating performance, supporting due-diligence and ensuring successful integration of acquisitions, providing leadership and management of large scale operational initiatives.
Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in addressing pivotal business and organizational opportunities • Coordinate with M&A team, corporate and business teams during due diligence process for mergers, acquisitions. • Develops pre-close integration planning and strategies for acquired companies. This includes leading high-level integration meetings with acquired company senior management and facilitating development of integration strategies for acquisitions • Lead post-transaction integration activities to ensure proper execution of and accountability to deliver committed integration value capture • Helping set up the PMO/integration office & communication rhythm for new acquisitions and cross-business unit operational initiatives • Lead cross-business unit and cross-functional operational initiatives
Requires a BS/BA; 7-10+ years of progressive experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, large scale project/program management experience or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal • Demonstrated experience coordinating and leading senior-level presentations • A high degree of accountability and personal urgency • Cross-functional perspective and quick, continuous learning style • Proven abilities related to project management with multiple partners in a fast paced working environment • Highly collaborative and able to influence. Should embrace, support and practice a collaborative style which goes beyond relationship building. Will achieve results with and through others • Demonstrate ability with finance and financial metrics • Proven experience in corporate matrix organization • Proven experience in leadership role on large, multi-business unit or multi-function initiatives • Ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications: • MBA/Master’s Degree • Outstanding academic achievement • Experience in the health care industry • Strategy and M&A integration experience at a professional services firm and/or corporate finance • Demonstrated agility in learning complex concepts • Comfort with and eagerness to tackle ambiguous problems • Experience with post-merger integration planning and execution or other complex project management strongly preferred • Deep experience with complex, cross-functional business issues and operations
