ASRC Federal Holding Company Technical Writer (DNT USCB) in JEFFERSONVILLE, Indiana

Position : Technical Writer (DNT USCB)

Location : JEFFERSONVILLE, IN

ASRC Federal will provide project management support for the Census Bureau's National Processing Center (NPC) located in Jeffersonville, IN. The NPC is the Census Bureau's primary center for mail processing, survey processing, data capture, and imaging/scanning. The NPC collects and processes monthly, quarterly, and annual surveys which include demographic data, population statistics, economic indicators, housing statistics, business, construction, and foreign trade information for the Decennial Census, Economic Census, and the Census of Governments.

ASRC Federal DNT is providing business and project management support to the Decennial Census. The Census is making fundamental changes to the design, implementation, and management of the decennial census. These changes build upon the previous successes and address challenges of the previous censuses while also balancing challenges of cost containment, quality, flexibility, and innovation.

  • Write and/or edit technical documents, including reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements

  • Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations

  • Research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables

  • Consult relevant information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables

  • U.S. Citizenship Required

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum 8 years' overall experience with 5 years' experience in technical writing / editing on management consulting or systems development projects

  • Experience using MS Office, MS Project, Visio, and other tools

  • Experience supporting Government clients
