Arconic Ingot Metallurgist in Lafayette, Indiana
We are looking for a full time Ingot Metallurgy and Quality Systems Supervisor to join the Metallurgy and Quality Systems department of our Lafayette Operations in the Arconic Forgings & Extrusions business unit in Lafayette, Indiana. This position reports to the Chief Metallurgical Engineer and is responsible for providing metallurgical leadership and process engineering support to the Ingot Plant. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading the Ingot Metallurgy and Quality Systems group to ensure the material produced meets and exceeds customer, industry and Alcoa specifications through process control, practice development and inspection systems.
Determining resource needs and obtaining technical support to drive continuous improvement efforts and stability.
Providing direct technical support to AFE Sales and Marketing organizations through product development, process development and technical resourcing.
Giving customer technical support by specification review, consultation and on-site visits.
Conducting internal audits to assess area of responsibility against standard requirements, correct non-conformities, identify best practices and opportunities for improvement.
Monitoring key product, process and customer quality metrics and communicating summary and status to the organization on a regular basis.
Establishing the requirements for raw materials verification and evaluating new raw materials. #LI-FS1
•Bachelor of Science degree in Material Science or Metallurgical Engineering from an accredited institution

•Previous experience in a unionized environment.
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in aluminum fabrication or metals industry.
•Minimum of 3 years of experience solving problems, understanding and applying metallurgical concepts, and reviewing standards and specifications.
•Someone with Ingot casting experience.
