Manufacturing Engineer III

We are looking for a new colleague in the Engineering Department at our Plant location in Lafayette, Indiana.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in the following manufacturing engineering activities: tooling design and machine run-off, technical support to the production floor, new manufacturing process development and oversight, new and existing equipment movement and installation.

  • Lead recommendations of capital equipment purchases, including writing executive summaries, receiving quotes and assisting in selection of acceptable bids.

  • Troubleshoot equipment, select tooling for machine upgrades, perform retrofitting, improve process efficiency and analyze data from run offs.

  • Using standardized procedures, ensure products are reliable, manufacturable and cost effective.

  • Conduct independent analysis of operation conditions and specifications requested by the customer.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required

  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment with strong functional/product knowledge and ability to train others required (automotive manufacturing environment preferred)

  • Expert-level knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within engineering required

  • Advanced knowledge of product line(s) and engineering design principles required

  • Extensive experience with engineering change systems required

  • Strong computer skills required

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of the organization and external contacts required
