Aerotek Lab Technician in Merrillville, Indiana

Job Description:

Laboratory Technician supporting Research and Development team. This position is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, detail oriented

individual to perform both routine and specialized analytical testing activities in the laboratory of a growing company.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Perform testing on R&D products and projects as directed by management.

Responsible for physical, mechanical, and analytical testing on products.

Perform analytical testing such as Karl Fischer and FTIR and routine tests include tensile test, moisture control, FTIR, solubility, and tear testing.

Enter and import testing data and generate test reports.

Responsible for general lab upkeep and instrument maintenance.

Perform calibrations and verifications on instruments as required.

Coordinate activities with other lab employees and departments as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in the sciences (Chemistry, Biology, physics, etc.)

Previous wet chemistry experience from school labs or industry.

General working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize.

Capable of working independently with limited supervision as well as with a team.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of FTIR, Viscosity, UV-Vis, GC, Tensile Testing, Tear Testing, or Automated Titrations preferred.
