Lippert Components, Inc EHS Specialist in Middlebury, Indiana
Works with team members and leadership to ensure the health, safety, and environmental needs are being achieved. This will be done by meeting compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct new hire safety orientation and monthly refresher training.
Build relationships with plant personnel and provides support to plant functions and events.
Develop/Review all job hazard analysis and PPE assessments to ensure accuracy.
Lead accident/incident investigations and help facilitate teams to effective sustainable corrective actions.
Conduct ergonomic assessments as needed.
Manage near miss program and follow all near misses until corrective action completion.
Conduct facility safety audits and report out all findings to leadership.
Lead safety committee and first responder team.
Update and review all required written programs to ensure they are always up to date with changing guidelines and regulations.
Develop/Review LOTO procedures and audit to ensure standards are being practiced by LOTO authorized team members.
Maintain and update all EHS related documentation.
May serve as the plant emergency coordinator for emergency response.
Team building - Building relationships with team members from multiple levels.
Communication Proficiency - Able to communicate both verbally and written on multiple levels.
Excellent Computer and training skills
Bilingual a plus, but not required.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities upon hiring.
This position can be active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing for extended periods of time. The team member may have to lift and/or move items up to 50lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are decided by the EHS leader. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as needed.
There is minimal to no travel with this position.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
Preferred Education and Experience
Previous experience in an occupational health and safety role in a manufacturing environment.
Prefer experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements.
OSHA 30 Hour or OSHA 511
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to pass EVerify.
