Line Automation Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced line electrician in our Mt. Vernon, IN manufacturing location. We offer a competitive compensation package including an hourly pay rate of $35.33 and the opportunity to earn up to a 5% bonus based on plant performance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Primary role is to provide maintenance service to production lines.

  • Performs and helps develop preventive, predicted and reactive maintenance procedures.

  • Maintain complete records of work performed using office software, Maximo and detailed logs.

  • Performs general and specialized facility, IT, and electrical maintenance.

  • Performs equipment change-overs and assists in production line set ups as needed.

  • Analyze machine error messages and information from operators to diagnose and repair equipment.

  • Help establish repair frequencies, PMs and parts inventories for new and existing equipment.

Required Education and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in a continuous process environment and a thorough understanding of manufacturing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.

  • Must possess expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, experience using Maximo a plus.

  • Must have Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) knowledge; Wonderware knowledge is a plus.

  • Experience with control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, and motor starters.

Schedule

We are a 24/7 rotating shift operation. This position works a 12-hour shift rotation .

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to hold or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders / stairs, twist and bend. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb stairs/ladders and work at elevations up to 80 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving equipment. During seasonal changes, employees may be exposed to varied levels of heat and coldness.
