Unifrax Electrical and Controls Systems Technician in New Carlisle, Indiana
Provides electrical system support to include installation and troubleshooting of 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC systems, control panels, MCCs and other plant systems. Able to read, interpret, and sketch electrical schematics. Provide services and assistance to maintenance, engineering personnel, and contractors etc. Must be able to install, modify, troubleshoot, start-up and assist in documentation of various electrical systems, including PLCs, VFDs, and a variety of analog sensors.
This position will report to the Principal Controls Engineer and will take assignments and direction from the maintenance and engineering groups. Day to day work with engineers, maintenance technicians and production operators is expected.
Maintain, install and troubleshoot various facility electrical systems, control panels, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs etc.
Work with contractors to coordinate project completion
Assist engineers in project planning and execution
Respond to plant needs in order to keep the production process running smoothly
Use the Adaptive Coaching process for communication, goal alignment, problem solving, and career planning.
Perform all other duties assigned
Qualifications/Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field with 3 years of relevant experience in hands-on electrical controls installation and troubleshootingorAssociates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field with 2 years of relevant experience in hands-on electrical controls installation and troubleshootingorProfessional Certification in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience in hands-on electrical controls installation and troubleshootingExperience with installation, operation, troubleshooting and programming as it relates to:Allen Bradley variable frequency drives from 1 hp to 500 hp - PowerFlex 4, 525, 700 and 750. Allen Bradley PLC-5, SLC-500, Control Logix series PLCs and Panelview Plus HMIs
Experience with installation, operation, and troubleshooting of various industrial instrumentation and control circuits as it relates to:4-20ma and 0-10vdc loops (pressure, level, temperature, position etc.)24vdc and 120vac controls and wiring diagrams480V MCC wiring and controlAble to read, modify, and mark-up electrical drawings.Strong communication and organization skillsStrong computer skillsKnowledge of National Electric CodeGood customer service orientation
