Aerotek Engineering Technologist in New Haven, Indiana

One of the largest electric utilities in the country is hiring for an entry-level Engineering Technologist in their New Haven/Fort Wayne office! Candidates in this role will support Distribution Line upgrades across Northern Indiana as the company continues to improve their current and future infrastructure for their customers. While this is an entry-level role, candidates will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop within the organization for many years to come. This is a foot-in-the-door opportunity with an organization where employees frequently enjoy multiple decades of stable employment.

Job Description:

  • Interact with customers and determine what needs they might have in terms of distribution design improvements

  • Design what work needs to be done in the company's proprietary design software (similar to AutoCad)

  • Enter work request in the internal systems and then have the work completed in the field

  • Spent about 40% of the time meeting with customers and 60% back in the office executing designs

Job Requirements:

  • 2-4 year degree within Engineering or Engineering Technology (can be Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil)

  • Electrical Knowledge (know what a transformer is, electrical distribution of power, what a conductor is etc.)

  • Critical-thinking skills and ability to stay self-motivated on the job

  • Ability to communicate present themselves professionally with internal/external customers

  • Desire to work for a large utility

  • Any previous power distribution experience preferred but not required

Candidates will work out of the New Haven, IN, office. Starting pay is between $18-20/hour. This is a long-term career opportunity with interviews starting this week!
