This is a salaried direct position with full benefits.If your passion is new technology within electric and hybrid automotive, their team is at the forefront.The Sr. Product Engineer will be primarily responsible for the overall product design for an e motor within the Electric Drive Module (eDM) product line. Responsible for leading the design development, following the Company Design Review and Product Development process, supporting quality documentation and builds, completing validation testing and resolving issues leading up to serial production.Support the Product Engineering team, eDM product line, and other engineering competenciesServe as a key member of the Simultaneous Engineering Group along with members of product management, sales, purchasing and manufacturingResponsible for the design, development and production release of e motor models for multiple customer programs within eDMWork with Design staff to prepare concepts, layouts and drawings.Work with Design Release, NVH and CAE Engineers to ensure that components and the overall product perform at the required levelsCollaborate with Validation Engineers to prepare the appropriate fixtures and complete testing requirements.Familiarize self with key quality methods used at BorgWarner including ADV plans, DFMEA's, DFM/DFA process, and APQP and Design for Value (DFV)Work with customers to ensure product meets performance, packaging and service ability requirements.Actively support purchasing throughout the supplier release processWork with Plant Product and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure product meets manufacturing requirementsSupport the engineering change process for engineering productsAssist with prototype build activitiesRequired Skills / Qualifications:Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or other Engineering DegreeMin 5 years of related engineering experienceMin 2 years of experience with E Motor, E-Machine, or Electric Drive Module Product Design and DevelopmentMin 1 year of experience working with DFMEA, DFM/DFA and APQPMin 3 years working with GDandTGo Beyond.
