Position Purpose:

The Operations Analyst is responsible for the effective and accurate recording and collection of operational indicators. This position will also work with others to achieve factory business objectives of safety, productivity, customer service, quality, cost and environmental protection. The primary accountabilities of the role include daily throughput progress, AU reporting, daily downtime reporting accuracy, accurate scrap tracking, changeover tracking, data trending, SAP functionality, inventory control and continuous improvement as part of a work team.

Let's talk about Responsibilities:

  • Completes reports and analysis on changeover, downtime, scrap, throughput, inventory and other Key Performance Indicators as needed. Develops reporting tools for the varying departments of the facility

  • Performs validation of daily operations and SAP data to ensure effective data functionality and integrity and provide mentorship for continuous improvement. Conducts production version/rate updates at a minimum of quarterly.

  • Defines data requirements, collects and validates information applying discernment and statistical analysis

  • Participate in and provide data for continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility

  • Analyzes production schedules, batch runs, production results, and issues

  • Participates in monthly cycle counts and assists in researching inventory variances

  • Participates on cross-functional teams and special projects as needed

  • Reviews information and recommends cost effective proposals that afford maximum probability of profit or effectiveness in relation to cost or risk

  • Identify and report Food Safety issues to management. Understand and follow Hill’s policies, safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety

What you need for this position?

  • 2 year Associates degree or equivalent analyst experience

  • 2 + years of manufacturing experience

  • 2 + years analyzing data

  • Strong Excel skills (Formulas, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc..)

  • Strong Tableau skills

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, product scheduling, asset utilization and SAP

It’s an advantage to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree

  • Green or Black Belt Certification

  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES) database systems and reporting experience

Expected Areas of Skills:

  • Planning and organization

  • Strong teamwork and relationship skills

  • Ability to communicate and express ideas with other team members

  • Basic Computer Skills (Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, etc.)

  • Ability to demonstrate influence, technical, and analytical competencies

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit, type, and use a computer keyboard: four (4) to six (6) hours per day

  • Able to bend, walk, stand, and climb stairs/ladders: two (2) to three (3) hours per day

  • Able to perceive visual and audible alarms and wear required personal protective equipment while performing duties in the production areas
