U.S. Bank Project Manager 5 - Remote in Richmond, Indiana

Our Project Managers are responsible for establishing and leading enterprise cross functional strategic initiatives. PM’s lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and services, large scale application development or replacement systems integration, Business Line (BL) initiatives, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering and infrastructure upgrades and deployments.

Responsible for:

  • Defining, planning, orchestrating and delivering a given strategic initiative.

  • Ensuring end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit.

  • Directing large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners

  • Coordinating one or more initiatives including business, operational and partnering in IT deliverables.

  • Directly managing all aspects of the project lifecycle and works with matrix IT partners to oversee all SDLC phases of a project

  • Rigorously managing scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost and quality parameters.

  • Validating financial forecasts and provides ongoing reconciling of resources/dollars and other related expenditures

  • Developing communication plans and project management plans and interfaces to execute on responsibilities

  • Serving as a SME in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives

  • Representing projects in various project governance and interdepartmental forums

  • Leading project and Executive Steering Committee (ESC) meetings to review progress with key constituents

  • Defining and tracking project milestones while developing, maintaining and reporting an overall integrated delivery plan.

  • Developing project management plan, work breakdown structure (WBS) schedule, implementation plan, and related project management artifacts

  • Publishing weekly project status reports

  • Proposing recommendations, improvements and change adjustments

  • Identifying and managing risks and issues to include clear mitigation plans


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Eight to ten years of experience in project management and leadership activities

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Considerable knowledge of assigned business line or functional area

  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational, decision making and analytical skills

  • PC proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Visio and Project

  • Advanced knowledge of project management

  • Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data

  • PMP certification or professional certification is a plus

  • Experience with complex system integration.

  • Familiarity with PPM tools, e.g.: Clarity and Daptiv. Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management, and SDLC Methodologies (waterfall, Agile) and tools

  • Must be proficient in organizational and problem solving skills

  • Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work within budget limits
