Aerotek Lab Technician in Shelbyville, Indiana

Job Description:


  • Operate lab equipment for purposes of determining the acceptability of newly mixed batches of rubber. (Rheometer, tensiometer, lab molding presses, specific gravity tester, durometer, and others)

  • Perform incoming / receiving inspection of raw materials using Mooney Viscometer, ovens, scales, etc.

  • Document, print, reprint, and label raw material approval tags.

  • Performs necessary record keeping for certifications, quality control tests, etc.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization of work area.

  • Perform other tests as needed to support Rubber Manufacturing

  • Perform all functions in accordance with TS16949 Work Instructions and Environmental Management System Requirements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Demonstrate experience with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word)

  • Understanding of basic file storage, movement, and naming conventions.

  • Able to learn specialized computer software associated with the Lab

  • Ability to work necessary overtime as needed to support Rubber Manufacturing

  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.

  • Ability to perform routine bending and stretching

  • Must have acceptable safety and attendance record.

  • Good oral and written communication skills & ability to coordinate activities across several departments

  • Willing to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
