USG Corporation Project Engineer (Mine) - Shoals in Shoals, Indiana

  1. Position is located in an underground mine at the Shoals, IN manufacturing plant.

  2. Assists in the monitoring and execution of the Mine/Mill Department and Plant safety programs.

  3. Prepares and follows to completion all assigned Authorities and Job Sheet requests.

  4. Utilizes technical training to advise on and implement various process improvements in the Mine and Mill Departments.

  5. Assists Mine/Mill Department supervision on routine maintenance assignments and follow-ups required for daily operations.

  6. Assists the Mine/Mill Manager in planning and implementing routine and non-routine maintenance expenditures.

  7. Exposure to direct supervision involving maintenance crews as well as outside contractors.

  8. This position is designed to provide the incumbent with manufacturing exposure for positions of greater responsibility.

  9. Undergraduate degree in Mining Engineering.

  10. Prior full-time or co-op/intern experience in a mine or quarry environment strongly preferred.

  11. Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Drafting etc.) 4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  12. High level of organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.

  13. Must be a self-starter, detailed-oriented, and have the ability to work both independently and within a team to meet deadlines.

  14. Open to relocation for advancement opportunities with the company.
