The Role: EmNet, a Xylem brand, seeks a talented software engineer to join its development team. You will work side-by-side with our full-time engineers to extend the capabilities of our industry leading analytics platform. Your code will be deployed to our production SaaS environment where it will be used by a growing list of water utilities across the World. You will participate in the development process from definition to deployment. Create and maintain back end oriented services and micro-services utilized by the rest of our architecture. Engineer code that is efficient, standard and well documented. Develop cutting-edge applications to improve BLU-X's software offering. Maintain and improve existing cloud-based applications, reducing costs and streamlining efficiency. Take on challenging tasks as needed with an eagerness to develop skills in new areas. EmNet is seeking a disciplined and organized yet creative individual with an engineering background to manage EmNet’s key client projects. This position offers the opportunity to join EmNet’s driven, contrarian, creative experts in their endeavor to use high tech tools to solve age-old infrastructure problems.

EmNet is a technology solutions company, hyper-focused on the use of big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of things to implement Intelligent Watershed™ solutions for municipal sewer systems. Founded in 2004 as a University of Notre Dame research start-up, today EmNet has over 20 municipal clients throughout the United States, including some of the largest cities in the country. This year EmNet joined Xylem’s Advanced Infrastructure Analytics, a conglomerate of intelligent water technologists seeking to disrupt the status quo and drastically advance the water industry.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • BS in Computer Science or B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or Master in Science in Software

  • 8 to 10 year’s minimum of Python development in a team environment

  • Proven ability to develop back end services in a large scale, high performance environment

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Experience working with REST APIs

  • Experience working with Python.

  • Experience working with C#.

  • Experience working with REST, SOAP, and creating web services.

  • Knowledge of versioning tools such as GitHub.

  • Experience with SQL and RDBMS systems.

  • Experience in Data heavy applications.

  • Experience with Agile methodology or similar lean startup approach to building software.
